William Grady is an independent scholar and librarian based in Manchester (UK). He holds a PhD from the University of Dundee. His research interests fall broadly in the realms of comics and popular genre fiction (especially the American Western). His book, Redrawing the Western: A History of American Comics and the Mythic West, was published by the University of Texas Press in 2024. He has held a post-doctoral research position at the University of the Arts London (UAL); taught comics, media theory, and film history at Manchester Metropolitan University and the University of Dundee; and is an associate editor of the Journal of Graphic Novels and Comics.
